This album takes that a step further and really showcases the maturity of Tim's scholarly approach to hook laden songs and Greg being the best sidekick since Bob Weir/5(20).

You hear their influences (many mentioned in these reviews) but they really do transcend them all and put out a sound that is all their own. 8. On their third album, the Mother Hips released what I consider to be their finest effort. They are beginning to embrace that California country sound a bit more than the previous two releases. Full of songs about love gone wrong, drug addiction and longing, Shoot Out is one of those records that continues to amaze your ears and brain after years and years of repeated spins/5(6).
