  1. I'm guessing "My Mammy" was a hit for Al Jolson in based on its inclusion in the first talkie, The Jazz Singer, in which he performs the song in blackface. So, yeah, there's that. I suppose it's interesting that this might be the first hit single to be spawned from a movie.
